Lincoln National Corp. (NYSE: LNC) advanced by 10.27% and closed at $23.73 on 13.99 million shares, more than double its average volume, amid speculation of a buyout. Netezza Corp. (NYSE: NZ) rose by 33.18% and closed at $19.87 on nearly 15 times its average volume, boosted by its strong earnings results for the Q2. Shares set a new 52-week high of $20.81 earlier in the session. Massachusetts-based Netezza is the global leader in data warehouse, analytic and monitoring appliances that dramatically simplify high-performance analytics across an extended enterprise. Dollar Financial Corp. (NASDAQ: DLLR) rallied by 26.23% and closed at $19.78 on nearly seven times its average volume. The financial services company on Thursday reported a narrowed loss in its Q4 of $5.1 million, or 21 cents a share, compared with the year-ago quarter’s $33.3 million or $1.39 a share. Micros Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: MCRS) soared by 11.41% and closed at $39.44 on nearly seven times its average volume, following its strong Q4 results. The Maryland-based company, which specializes in information technology solutions for the hospitality and specialty retail industries worldwide, also gave an improved forecast for fiscal 2011. Compellent Technologies Inc. (NYSE:CML) advanced by 15.16% and closed at $17.17 on over five times its average volume, amid intensified bidding war for rival 3PAR Inc. (NYSE:PAR). (NYSE:CML), (CML)
