Each night I send a daily watch list to clients seen below. You’ll also see my swing trade stalker list below the daily and a nightly video. The swing trade stalker is a targeted list I put out on Sunday and then stalk across the week funneling the best looking trades to the daily watch list nightly. Between my master watch list, nightly scans, the swing trade stalker and the daily watch list there’s plenty of ideas for my clients floating around.

I recommend busy professionals work off my daily watch list while those with more time study the swing trade stalker too, it’s a great learning tool. This blog post is proof my swing trading service is perfect for working professionals or people with busy schedules. Best part of swing trading is you can do this from anywhere so long as you have access to a smart phone, tablet or laptop.

On Thursday December 6, 2012 I issued a detailed report for premium clients and 30 minute video breakdown regarding how we'd swing trade the January effect at Jason Bond Picks. As you can imagine Gevo Inc. (NASDAQ:GEVO) stock was on that list.

I said, "...the GOOD small caps will get bought by funds in January… let me emphasize this is only for the GOOD small caps. The bad ones suck and no funds will be buying them! Here at Jason Bond Picks I teach three easy to spot chart patterns, attempt to find a solid catalyst and time the market for 5-10% rinse and repeat. While my daily focus is on $3-$5 stocks, from time to time I like to put out a list of what I call ‘Account Builders‘ in which the swing trade cocktail is basically the same but I lower my price in the scan to $.25 – $1 or in this case $1 – $3 with at least $500,000 in volume on the day. MNI, COCO and SWSH were not only up on a down day but are heavily shorted with technical patterns that offer a tight identifiable stop and a trading range around 20% to maximize profit opportunity. As a swing trader I’m consistently hunting for small caps with good stories and near term catalysts capable of delivering big swings in short time frames. Gevo Inc. (GEVO) is such a company.

Take for example, in the past 52 weeks shares of Gevo swung from $5.32 to $8.86 across 6 days back in October 2011, $5.50 to $11.29 in January across 6 weeks and more recently $4.84 to $9.94 May into June. With a market cap of $144 million it’s no wonder Gevo runs big on catalysts given 43% of the float is betting against the company.
