MacroSolve Inc. (OTCBB: MCVE), a pioneer in mobile solutions for businesses and parent company of Anyware Mobile solutions, announced the company has contracted with the City of Sand Springs, Okla., to provide an electronic ticketing system to aid officers in their efforts to enforce traffic laws at the city.

The Tulsa, Okla.-based company entered into a five-year contract with the city to provide the Sand Springs Police Department with a system composed of rugged hand-held computers that can scan a driver’s license bar code, automatically entering the driver’s information. The electronic ticketing system, including device and software, greatly reduces the time and the logistics of citing motorists in the field, as well as improve officer safety and overall processing time required to record the traffic incident.

Safety and cost reductions were noted as the primary and secondary motivations for adopting the technology, said the company in a recent press release. Last year, the leading cause of death among police officers was due to being struck by vehicles in the performance of their duty. MacroSolve’s electronic ticketing mobile solution greatly reduces the time the officer takes engaging the motorist, reducing the threat of injury throughout the process of ticketing traffic code violators. The reduced paper costs and man hours processing the data are substantial, notes the company.

“This is a revolutionary step for our department. It will improve officer safety and driver inconvenience by minimizing the time a vehicle is stopped along the roadside to issue a ticket. It will also allow us to use our administrative resources more prudently and effectively,” commented Mike Carter, assistant chief of police for the Sands Springs Police Department.

Carter feels the solutions provided by MacroSolve to traffic enforcement for the police department is a benefit to the city without extensive training costs usually associated with new equipment and technologies.

“We looked at other electronic ticketing solutions and found Anyware’s no-frills approach to this product to be the best fit for our city. We appreciate that the product is straight forward and easy to use. We’re all the more pleased to be working with an Oklahoma-based technology company with a long history in mobile software development,” Carter added.

MacroSolve products are anticipated to be considered by other police forces as city budgets come under strain from the financial crisis, affecting cities small and large throughout the United States.

“As cities and states across America are facing tightening budgets we are very pleased to implement mobile technology that is beneficial from the first day of its implementation. Sand Springs is clearly progressive in its adoption of technology and will serve as a pilot as other police departments across Oklahoma and the U.S. consider electronic ticketing as a means to increase safety and efficiency,” said MacroSolve president and CEO, Clint Parr.
